Harvested in the wild, this pepper develops a remarkable aromatic complexity. Its spicy, aniseed and almost minty flavor, accompanied by notes of thyme and fennel, leaves a unique sensation of freshness in the mouth. Milder than traditional black pepper, it offers a refined taste experience. This pepper, sometimes called “Gorilla pepper” or “Ashanti pepper”, is picked by the Baaka indigenous community from the village of Mobangui, located in the Likouala department. The Baaka, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in the Congo Basin, perpetuate ancestral harvesting methods, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of this rare product.
