Presentation of Domaine Aupilhac – Blanc
Discover a fresh white wine with southern accents. The Aupilhac estate offers us a vintage of white wine made with grape varieties typical of the South of France: Ugni blanc, grenache blanc, clairette and Carignan blanc. The wine has a beautiful bright color. On the nose, we discover notes of white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, the wine is well balanced, with white flowers, lemon and grapefruit. The wine is lively and the finish is tense. It is a perfect wine for an aperitif or to accompany a fish dish.
HISTORY OF THE ESTATE
The Aupilhac estate is located in Montpeyroux, about thirty kilometers north of Montpellier. It is a family estate and Sylvain is the 5th generation to cultivate these vines. The estate has terraced plots on the place called “Aupilhac” and plots higher up on the “Cocolalières” site. Its terroir and its climate at the foot of the Plateau du Larzac, allow Domaine Aupilhac to offer wines which will have, thanks to the altitude, higher acidity/alcohol balances, as well as fresher aromas. The estate practices organic and biodynamic farming (Ecocert and Demeter certification) and offers us superbly crafted vintages, including Les Cocalières Rouge and Les Cocalières Blanc , wines with long aging in tuns and barrels, all in freshness, well structured and balanced.
