Presentation of Domaine Philippe Chéron Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru “Chamonnet” 2012014 - Red
Philippe Chéron 's Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru Champonnet is a great, powerful and generous red wine from Burgundy . Even though it is a wine for great aging, this 2013 vintage is starting to open up and can be drunk today. The color is ruby with slightly darker reflections. The nose is very “pinote” with aromas of fresh red fruits, strawberries, redcurrants and notes of brambles and undergrowth. The palate, frank and structured, restores the finesse of the aromas present on the nose and supports this wine with length.
History of the estate
At the end of the 1930s Paul Misset, grandfather of Philippe Chéron , acquired plots of vines on the Cote de Nuits . Not being a winemaker, he entrusted the management to farmers. Two generations later, Paul Misset's grandchildren built around these historic plots a wine estate today covering 5 hectares and spread over the Nuits Saint Georges , Vosne Romanée , Chambolle Musigny appellations with plots in 1er Cru and Clos of Vougeot Grand Cru . Since 2011, Phillipe Chéron has worked its vines (70% of which are old vines) from its prestigious climates as naturally as possible, without insecticides or weedkillers and maintaining low yields. An engaging and talented winemaker to stock up on great Burgundy red wine.
