Presentation of Domaine Etienne Simonis Alsace Gewurztraminer Late Harvest 2015 – Liquorous White

Late harvests come from grapes harvested over-ripe and late in the season. The harvested bunches are then richer in sugar, sometimes under the effect of noble rot, often by desiccation of the grapes on the vine. This gives the Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives from the Etienne Simonis estate remarkable power and aromatic concentration. How not to succumb to its aromas of rose, lychee, candied citrus fruits and quince, and its creamy mouthfeel with almost endless length!

History of the estate

The Simonis family has been cultivating its vines in Ammerschwihr, in Alsace, since the 17th century. Today, Étienne Simonis is at the head of the 7-hectare family estate, fully certified in Biodynamics (DEMETER) since 2011 (although chemicals have no longer been used since 2000). As white wines from Alsace are strongly influenced by their terroirs and their grape varieties, Etienne Simonis offers a wide range of wines that are very different from each other. Whether you prefer Riesling , Pinot Gris or Gewurztraminer, you will definitely find the wine you need! The Etienne Simonis estate also produces an excellent Riesling Grand Cru Kaefferkopf and a confidential Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tarvives for the most demanding enthusiasts! Please note: all Etienne Simonis wines are also Vegan .
