Presentation of Château Barbanau Cassis Blanc – Kalahari 2015

Passionate about southern Africa and wildlife photography, the winegrower couple wanted to share their passions through an exceptional wine: the Kalahari vintage! A White Cassis different from the others vinified and aged in oak barrels. The dress is shiny gold. The intense nose reveals aromas of yellow fruits, white flowers and spices (cinnamon, vanilla, gingerbread). The mouth of this Kalahari 2015 vintage is rich and full without lacking liveliness. The aromas persist in a long finish. Here is a beautiful white wine from Château Barbanau which shows another interpretation of this emblematic terroir of Cassis !

History of the estate

Château Barbanau is a family estate of around twenty hectares located in Roquefort La Bédoule near Cassis . The estate was acquired by Sophie Cerciello and her husband Didier Simonini after inheriting Clos Val Bruyère, a 7.5 hectare plot in Cassis, from great-grandfather Emile Bodin. After restoring the entire estate including the Château Barbanau cellar (until then abandoned) the couple produced their first vintage in 1989. The vineyard has been conducted in Organic Agriculture (Certified) since 2008 and in Biodynamics (Biodyvin certified) since 2018 The quality of their different vintages in the Cassis and Côte de Provence appellations make Château Barbanau a must in the region with a special mention for its luxurious Kalahari vintage! Note the wines are also certified Vegan .
