Want an elegant and fine Burgundy? Taste the Mercurey 1er Cru Monopole from Domaine Meix-Foulot, Château de Montaigu . On the nose, it presents intense aromas of wild berries and blackcurrant; on the palate we will find peppery notes accompanying this fruitiness. Young, we will appreciate its elegant attack with a finish that never ends; more mature we will benefit from its complexity of aromas (fruit, pepper, chocolate) supported by a very present power. This enclosure surrounded by a wall at the foot of the ruins of the Montaigu castle, is located under the windows of the Meix Foulot estate. It spreads out under the rays of the sun all day despite its exposure towards the Saône plain. The complexity of the terroir on these 1.9 ha is found in the wine: both tender, elegant but also structured and powerful. HISTORY OF THE ESTATE
The Meix Foulot estate is an old wine estate, which has belonged to the family for more than two centuries. In 1956 Paul de Launay took over the estate and set about developing its terroir. Since 1996, the estate has been managed by his daughter Dewe Delaunay. Over the years, the estate offers us ever more qualitative vintages. With great control of yields, great concentration in the wines and work as close as possible to nature.
