Presentation of the Domaine Antoine Van Remoortere, Menetou Salon - Blanc

The clay-limestone terroir of the Menetou-Salon appellation subsoil gives a particular character to the white wines and when, as at the Remoortere estate, they are well worked, it is a particularly pleasant and refined dry white wine . The palate is full, vigorous, dominated by fruit. A beautiful acidity emerges throughout the mouth. A mineral side emerges accompanied by fine citrus notes.

HISTORY OF THE DOMAIN

It is in Cher, in the commune of Morogues, that the Remoortere estate has been established since 1989. Antoine Van Remoortere owns 4 hectares of AOC Menetou-Salon. Following his varied experiences on different estates: in South Africa or with Julien Zernott at the Domaine du Pas de l'Escalette, Antoine then returned to the family estate , Château de Maupas, with his father, Joseph Van Remoortere, who has been established since 1989 in Morogues, a small commune in Cher. This young twenty-five-year-old winegrower now cultivates four hectares in this same commune under the Menetou-Salon appellation. Respectful of the land and the environment, he is gradually moving towards organic farming .
In a northern climate, this vineyard is located at the extreme east of the Loire facing south-east on a clay-limestone soil of Kimmeridgian age. This terroir offers two unique grape varieties of the appellation, Pinot noir and Sauvignon on the hillsides of Fourchet and Reigny belonging to the estate. Its first bottles were released in 2011, under the label Remoortere
