Presentation Climbing the Alaric - Château La Baronne

En Montant l'Alaric is an intense and elegant cuvée from Château La Baronne , which pays homage to the slopes of the Montagne d'Alaric , the beating heart of the Corbières. This blend of mainly Syrah , with a touch of Carignan and Grenache , gives birth to a red wine for laying down , with a strong personality. From the first nose, En Montant l'Alaric seduces with its deep aromas of ripe black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) mixed with subtle notes of zan (licorice) and spices. On the palate, it is a fleshy, intense wine, with a generous and structured texture. The long finish reveals a delicate minty touch, bringing freshness and balance to the whole. This organic Corbières red wine , produced with respect for the terroir and biodiversity, is made for gastronomy and aging. It will go perfectly with rich dishes such as a roast leg of lamb, game in sauce or mature cheese. A Corbières red with character , combining power, finesse and depth, for lovers of great Languedoc wines .

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

In the heart of the Corbières, nestled in the foothills of the Montagne d'Alaric, Château La Baronne is a family estate that embodies the soul of Languedoc. For over a century, the Lignères family, passionate doctors and winemakers , have watched over this exceptional vineyard located in a preserved natural ecosystem. On these lands shaped by the four great geological eras, the vines flourish between 100 and 200 meters above sea level, on soils rich in clay, limestone and sandstone. Centenary Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, but also Vermentino, Roussanne or even Grenache blanc and gris: the emblematic grape varieties of the south express themselves here with authenticity. From Louis Lignères, who founded the house in 1890, to Jean and Anne, who perpetuate its spirit today, five generations have succeeded one another with the same desire: to reveal the beauty of the Alaric terroirs through sincere, lively and committed vintages.
