Presentation of Domaine Philippe Chéron Chambolle Musigny 2016 - Red
This 2016 vintage was very difficult for Philippe Chéron, particularly on the plots in Chambolle Musigny, because of the frost. This is why, due to the small quantities but the good quality of the grapes, Philippe Chéron made the decision to assemble these plots into a single Chambolle Musigny, produced in only 3096 bottles. The color is bright ruby. The nose is very “pinote” with aromas of fresh red fruits, strawberries and very ripe raspberries. The lacy mouth reveals a very feminine wine with very pure and intense fruit. A Chambolle Musigny full of charm and finesse that must be appreciated in this very confidential vintage.
HISTORY OF THE ESTATE
At the end of the 1930s Paul Misset, grandfather of Philippe Chéron , acquired plots of vines on the Cote de Nuits . Not being a winemaker, he entrusted the management to farmers. Two generations later, Paul Misset's grandchildren built around these historic plots a wine estate today covering 5 hectares and spread over the Nuits Saint Georges , Vosne Romanée , Chambolle Musigny appellations with plots in 1er Cru and Clos of Vougeot Grand Cru . Since 2011, Phillipe Chéron has worked his vines (70% of which are old vines) in his prestigious climates as naturally as possible, without insecticides or weedkillers and while maintaining low yields. An engaging and talented winemaker to stock up on great Burgundy red wine.
